Important Catch-Up Information
Dear Parents,
This term we have been assessing gaps in children’s learning following the disruption to education that took place when schools were closed to pupils last year during lockdown.
After Christmas we will be implementing additional “Catch-Up” sessions with those children who have been identified as having gaps in their learning in specific subjects. All children will receive some additional support over the next 2 terms. These sessions will be delivered throughout the rest of the school year. Details of this support can be found on our website (Catch-Up Premium Plan).
Some of this support will be delivered by teachers from a company called Connex Education who we have employed to work with the children in small groups.
Should you NOT wish your child to take part in these sessions, please call the school office to request an “opt-out” form. We also would like to draw your attention to a letter from Connex Education (Privacy Notice for Parents and Carers) on the school website, which gives details of how data about your child will be stored and used. This is a data protection privacy notice.
To enable as many children as possible to receive support we will be slightly changing the end of the school day. Classes in Years 1 – 6 will run until 3.20 each day as opposed to 3.15 pm. Children will be brought out at 3.20 pm.
Reception and Nursery will remain unchanged.
I hope that nobody will opt-out of this very valuable extra teaching.
