Heatwave

We are set to have some extremely hot weather conditions over the coming days - especially on Monday and Tuesday.
It is difficult to manage the children in school when the weather is extremely hot and there is a risk to health and safety. Many of our classrooms get uncomfortably hot with no air conditioning. We take precautions with the children; encouraging hydration, going out for short periods only and remaining in the shade as well as avoiding extended physical activity. However, I fear it may be very difficult in the early part of the week.

Some parents, in such extreme weather conditions, may prefer to keep their children at home to monitor their well-being. School will be open, and we will do our very best to keep the children safe and well, despite the weather.

If you do send your children to school ensure you apply sun cream in the morning, send them with a hat, loose fitting clothing and their water bottle.
