If I don't speak with you before you go off on your well-deserved summer break, have a truly wonderful relaxing time and enjoy the end of lockdown…………!
It certainly looks like lockdown is coming to an end, allowing families and friends to openly get together, just in time for the summer break, which is wonderful news for us all. And, whilst we want you and your children to have a wonderful time, we must bring to your attention our awareness of local antisocial behaviour. Kingstanding and Oscott Police teams have been dealing with groups of up to 20 young males, some of which are of primary age, which is shocking and extremely concerning to us and I am sure to you too.
The incidents have escalated from antisocial behaviour to acts of violence and criminal damage, you may have seen some of these on social media. The main hotspot areas have been Kingstanding Circle, "The Charlie" and Conker Island. We and the Police ask parents to please speak with your children, especially those who go out and meet up with friends that this behaviour may lead to a criminal record and is seriously affecting the lives of the local community.
West Midlands Police have the ability to send you local alerts via email, this may include crime updates, the latest scams and how to deal with them together with local good news stories. Its free to signup, visit www.wmnow.co.uk
